Mark Boardman is The Man Behind the Mask. He's a native Hoosier with a lifelong interest in the American frontier. He has a collection of Old West books and magazines, ephemera and pictures. Boardman also writes on a variety of Western Americana subjects, and holds positions with both the Western Outlaw/Lawman History Association (WOLA) and the National Association for Outlaw and Lawman History (NOLA). And he does have a special interest in the Reno Gang.

The site details the long and colorful careers of Sam and Lou Blonger. At one time, the Blonger brothers were famous all across the West as gamblers, saloonkeepers and lawmen. Only recently we confirmed that both Sam and Lou served as marshal in Albuquerque in 1882, at the lose of Earp's vendetta ride and subsequent stay in that town.
