Affiliate Marketing: 5 Common Mistakes That Lead to Failure

From the outset, I think most affiliate marketers will agree that making money online is not rocket science. while it may not be as easy as many squeeze pages like to make it sound, it also isn’t as difficult as it initially seems. once you have discovered the perfect niche and an affiliate product or program within this niche, making money is merely the benefit of following a strategy and sticking to it.

However, far too many people are unable to realize any level of financial gain in internet marketing and creating an online passive income. Individuals who are new to the world of internet marketing do not fully understand how focused, organized, and productive one must be in order to make money online. through making mistakes, knowledge is gained. As a former newbie myself, here are five mistakes that most newbies make that will guarantee failure.

Newbies take what is given to them. I remember a few years back, there was an online ad network guru who was selling instructional videos on the ins-and-outs of using a very popular advertising program. in each example, he attempted to demonstrate his theories by using dog grooming as a niche. Inevitably, hundreds of thousands of dog grooming websites and blogs appeared online as a result of these instructional videos, as most people didn’t understand the nuance in the example. This happened to me, as well. I remember that I downloaded an eBook that suggested I build affiliate review sites for products in niches spanning from cake decorating to teaching people how to give sermons. Needless to say, my affiliate earnings remained flat in those areas.

In addition to doing your research to discover the perfect niche for you, you should also pay attention to what your own passions and interests are and develop websites, blogs, and promotion of products around a knowledge base you already have.

They don’t try the product first. Another mistake newcomers make when trying to create more passive income streams is one of total and utter ignorance. Often times, people are attempting to sell a product without being able to bring anything new to the discussion because they haven’t tried the product first. if the product costs money to try, and you haven’t purchased it, what makes you think that I will? Chances are a visitor to your website will understand your lack of knowledge about a product and be able to see through your smokescreen.

Making wild and unsubstantiated claims. Even though billions of people are online and–on any given night–millions are surfing the internet trying to find an easy way to make a six-figure income in their spare time, by making wild and ridiculous claims about your revenues and earnings will only lead people to identify you as a fraud. People are looking for help. They don’t want to be swindled.

Wasting time learning by reading, instead of learning by doing. The internet is an incredible treasure chest of information. in starting to develop ways to increase your income by promoting affiliate products, there is the danger of spending far too many nights reading blog post after blog post or thread after thread on popular forums. After a certain point, you need to realize that there is such a thing as information saturation. at that point, the only way that information is going to stick is if you learn through your own experiences of successes and challenges.

Dropping out too early. This is a classic experience. The internet is a graveyard of abandoned projects and forgotten plans. Some nights, meandering through links on the internet is like walking through the dusty, ramshackle remains of an Old West ghost town after the gold vein went dry. People think that promoting a product will create a virtual ATM machine or will create riches overnight. After three or six weeks of little to no returns, the creators vanish, leaving behind half-built visions of success. if you are going to make money online, then you are going to have to commit to the process for three, six, nine months or more. And, besides, why quit five minutes before the miracle?

Avoiding these common mistakes in internet marketing will not guarantee financial success beyond your wildest dreams, but you will probably avoid total failure. at the start, making money online is hard work that takes a high level of focus, dedication, and determination. are you willing to see the payoff?

How the Credit CARD Act of 2009 Has Changed the Credit Card Industry

Before the Credit CARD Act of 2009, the credit card business was like the Wild West. Pretty much anything goes when it comes to hidden fees, charges and taking your money. While many companies still have control over rate caps and fee settings, this act has given some help to the consumer when dealing with hidden fees. here are just some of the most important provisions in this act that a consumer can use to their advantage.

Interest rate increases: Customers are now given a 45 day notice for all interest rate increases, during this time they have the right to cancel their card and pay off their balance with the current interest rate.

No penalty for paying on time: This prohibits card companies from assessing fees on interest only balance for customers who pay on time. This also prevents companies from adding a rate increase to these customers who make steady payments for 6 months in a row.

No misleading terms: Before this act, companies tried many different terms to try and trick customers with tiny print. After this act companies were given a mandatory font size for all terms and have to give a clear definition of these terms to the customer.

Minimum Payment explanation: Creditors are now required to print on their statements how long it would take to pay off the balance with a minimum payment only. This also requires the creditor to list how much interest is involved with this payoff amount.

Excessive fee reduction: This limits the card companies’ number of over-the-limit fees that card companies are allowed to charge to 3 billing cycles. The creditor may also not charge an over-the-limit fee unless the consumer has approved these charges.

Limits credit cards to teens: This is a huge deal for all of us that were trapped by credit cards at a young age. There was nothing more enjoying then getting a $3,000 limit at the age of 18 where I can seemingly buy anything I want. Only did I learn a few months later, that my balance was at $3,500 and growing after each measly minimum payment I made. This provision limits credit cards to adults age 21 and over. If someone under 21 gets a card they are required to have a co-signer.

Overall companies still have tons of ways to make money, but many of the old tactics of hidden fees and sneaky charges were helped by the Credit CARD Act of 2009. The one tactic that defeats all of these fees is paying your card on time and paying it off. These are the customers that the credit card companies seem to hate.

Orlando florida 1991 – memories and rants – what do you think?

Remember what orlando was like back in the early 90's?? 20,000 leagues, king kong, hanna barbara, hitchcock, wild west stunt show…….what other rides were there that arnt there now? what was where the MIB ride is?

'91 was the first time I went, it was also the BEST. Ive been at least 10 since and still love it to bits.

HOWEVER…..

I seem to remember ALL the parks staying open till midnight every night & getting good value for money.
All the shops were proper souvenier/memorabilia shops

NOW, the parks seem to close as early as 7 and every other shop is a restaurant? anyone else noticed this or is it just me? most souvenier shops are just clones of each other too?

I have no problem with Universal and Disney wanting to "keep with the time" (i.e creating new rides such as 'the mummy' or 'everest') but I dont think they should close down classics such as BTTF or King Kong?

they should give some rides a lick of paint here & there and maybe update a few things too.

Last time I went,(3 years ago) I thought the restaurants were too expensive, food not healthy and not tasty. Children had to pass under a measure, if they were over a certain height they had to pay adult fees! I am not joking! Too long waiting for rides, memorabilia too expensive, but the staff were very kind and friendly. Don't think I'll ever go again.

Yes there were some very good memories of back then, its like things are getting stupider instead of better

People who have enough knowledge of Disney to make historical comparisons is minute.People like the British are there for the weather and children are happy with a big cardboard box.Disney wants all social classes to visit but the theme parks are going "black mall" with bad buffets, smoking and drinking, teens run amok and apathetic castmembers. The alibi that Disney is having a bad hair day is typical of the Disney clergy.Disney is burning up their reputation for profits which damages the brand forever.

Homeless man with golden voice?

have u heard about "Ted Williams" in the past few days? yes or No

This is by no means, the type answer your looking for, & I don't mean to sound as if I'm not happy for this man, because I am. but when I think of all the talent, that is out here. In the United States of America, & how they're locked out. because big business, & they're lawyers, have them locked out. Any time theirs a chance, a person can make , pretty big money. Big business, & they're lawyers, have laws made, to make it illegal, for John or Jane Q. Public, to brake in. I'm talking people that have played by the rules. They're not drug addicts, or were they ever. they have jobs. but they're God given talent, is wasted. but in a case like Ted Williams, a back door approach was taken. The internet. It'd be my guess, this internet back door will be closed. within a very few short years, if not before that..

Yes! I think that's a pretty awesome story. I mean, you've got complete losers becoming famous by doing makeup tutorials or being ghetto while talking about their sisters almost getting sexually assaulted. It's nice that youtube actually helped a man who is worthy and in need of a second chance.

yeah, its weird…..his voice doesnt seem to match his face, if u know what i mean…it seems like he should have a much deeper voice with more of an accent….kinda sounds like a white guy…..but he does have a nice voice for doing tv/radio…

Yes there are other homless peoples out there wit golden voices should they go forward would they get recognized?

Yes. Thought. it. was. cool.

Yes I have. I am glad that his life has changed for the better and I hope it continues. although he does remind me of Hermon Munster.

yes lol this guy's story to stardom is a perfect example of the powa of the internet o.o

yeah, but what about the other homeless people.

yes i did … Miracles do happen!

gives us inspiration that we should not lose hope in the worst of our times…

yupperoonies……. on inside Edision….. :) PEEP.

yes he is on every news channel

yes..he appeard on the news this evening

Yes.
Good for him. Honestly :)

Yeah, saw him on the news a couple nights ago.
